The common point between the Phantom of the opera and Shrek

Broadway show tonight on 44th str. Phantom of the opera. Interesting in a sense, even if its originality is not fantastic.

I realized that I am a certain incarnation of those male characters, like the opera ghost, who are damned, stricto sensu. Antiheroes living in their own isolated world, lonely, and who try to build their own universe. One of those ghosts who hope that one gal will eventually join their uncommon microcosm. Some examples ? The Beast, Casimodo, Captain Nemo, or ... Shrek !
